Incorrect, it definitely has something to do with the light that is allowed to pass through our atmosphere
The sky is blue as the sun emits all the colours of visible light evenly, but the earth's atmosphere causes all the colours but blue to be filtered out, which makes the sky itself seem blue as that's the only colour reaching through.
