How do air fryers work?

Imagine like, a hair dryer with a little basket underneath.

Okay, you can stop imagining now because you've pretty much got it.

I'm joking but that really is about it, the idea is that you spray a thin layer of oil on whatever it is you want to cook (or reheat, there's nothing better for reheating something already fried or battered than an air fryer) and the oil heats up and crispifys whatever you're cooking without having to literally submerge the food in oil.

Not quite as groundbreaking as the microwave, but still pretty darn good.
