Can stars be seen in the daytime from the bottom of a well?

The reason you can’t see stars during the day is that particles in the atmosphere scatter sunlight in all directions, so even though you aren’t looking directly at the sun, the scattered sunlight from every direction is much brighter that the light from more distant stars.

At the bottom of a well, there is still all of that atmosphere between you and the stars, and that atmosphere is glowing white/blue from sunlight. It’s just like standing on the ground and looking straight up.
