Botanist
Hes a bit of a non-traditional metal band. Sometimes ive heard him referred to as 'post black metal.' Just dulcimer, blast beats, and guttural screaming

Dir en Grey always scratched an itch no other metal band has. There's a lot of depth to them you won't catch if you only listen to a few of their songs.

Melvins

Especially the heavy sludge sound they had early in their career

Cannibal corpse, they've been doing music for more than 30 years and they demonstrate over an over again that they still have "it". you know what you're getting when you get a cc album: brutality.

they keep coming up with interesting guitar riffs and bass lines, the drums are insane, and george vocals are a perfect match for what they do.

it's one of those rare bands that i fell in love with when i listen to them for the first time and they still do new stuff, but keeping the same spirit if you know what i mean.
